TV3-Televisió de Catalunya is Catalonia's* generalist public TV broadcaster
TV3 is committed to offering its viewers socially relevant, quality programming. It has a well-earned reputation of maintaining high moral and ethical standards while supporting and promoting the Catalan culture and language, encouraging innovation and creativity and making full use of multiple resources and all available platforms.
TV3 (Televisió de Catalunya) is part of Corporació Catalana de Mitjans Audiovisuals, the leading communications group in Catalonia. It operates under the aegis of the Catalan Parliament and is financed both through public funding and advertising revenue.
(*) An area in north-eastern Spain, with a land area of 32,107 km2 and a population of over 7 million.For 13 years running, TV3 has been the most-watched television network in Catalonia by far. Last year it obtained a share of 14.1%, placing it in the lead during the time slots with the highest viewership such as prime time and day time. It is the leader in its geographic area as a result, outranking other generalist TV channels which broadcast throughout all of Spain. These results reflect TV3's attention to the tastes, interests and needs of its audience.
Viewers consider TV3 the channel they can most relate to, as well as the channel that produces the highest-quality programming (*1). This includes its fiction programs, which have always drawn wide audiences and consistently offer valuable entertainment thanks to TV3's constantly fresh approach to subjects.
From the start, TV3's documentaries have stood out because of their depth, choice of subject matter, and careful research and presentation. As a result, today TV3 is unique in its ability to program documentaries in primetime slots with leading viewership results.
TV3's news programs, internationally recognized for their innovative format and presentation, enjoy wide viewer support. They are considered Catalonia's leading news source and achieve audience numbers doubling that of the competition.

TV3-Televisió de Catalunya is the main driving force behind Catalonia's audiovisual industry. In 2022 it produced or co-produced more than fifty new audiovisual productions including documentaries, fiction and animation. These included both television shows and films, and most were shown by the leading television channels and cinemas in the country. TV3's contribution to the industry stands out in terms of both innovation and creativity.

TV3 - The first channel, with general content.
Addressed to a majority and family audience, it offers a broad range of programming and a strong news profile. TV3 is the channel of choice for the majority of Catalans.
33 - This channel offers diverse programming for specific audiences, focused on culture, knowledge and discovery. It is an open window to experimentation with new audiovisual languages and formats.
3/24 - A 24-hour news channel, respected not only for its thorough coverage and attention to local as well as international issues, but also for its constant innovation.
SX3 - A world aimed at children and youth audiences with content for a range of age groups: S3 for small children and X3 for older children and preadolescents. This new platform provides a transmedia, omnichannel and multiscreen approach to ensure community and public service values are present in the digital world.
Esport3- Televisió de Catalunya's sports channel, offering 24-hour access to sports events as well as nature- and adventure-related programs.
TV3cat- An international channel that broadcasts Televisió de Catalunya's content around the world via the internet, cable, telephone line and mobile phone.
TV3 has remained at the head of the most-watched channels in Catalonia, outranking channels that broadcast throughout Spain. It has a share of 14.1% —placing it 3.4% ahead of its closest competitor (2*)— and an average daily viewership of 1,651,000.
In studies on quality, viewers have once again chosen TV3 as their most highly valued network, with an average score of 8.4 out of 10 according to GFK's qualitative panel (*3). Its news bulletins are also the best in the business, with twice the audience of other channels.
Also leaders online
TV3 - Televisió de Catalunya was also Catalonia's leading online television network in 2022 in terms of both the number of viewers and the number of views. It had an average of 2.39 million exclusive users a month, and has been in the lead for 68 months in a row (*4). It also got more than 135 million views, 3.3% more than the year prior (*5). On social networks, its number of followers continues to break records as more and more people use the group's mobile apps and connected TV services. TV3's success year after year consolidates the Corporació Catalana de Mitjans Audiovisuals as the leader of Catalonia's communications sector.
TV3-Televisió de Catalunya keeps a constant focus on innovation and change. Part of the channel's strategy is to be present on all platforms for content distribution, and to encourage a direct relationship with viewers. As a result, TV3's profile on social networks remains prominent both inside and outside of Catalonia. Mobile phone apps and applications for connected TVs —especially those focused on videos and news— are widely popular in Catalonia. To reach the greatest number of viewers, TV3 is also accessible on the Internet through the TV3alacarta service via different platforms: the web, mobile phone and tablet applications, consoles, applications for connected TV and televisions with HBBTV.
Fonts (Source):TV3 has been adding new hits and awards to its roster for years. In fiction, productions like Polseres Vermelles (Red Band Society), Merlí or Nit i Dia (Night and Day) have been big hits in Italy, France, Germany, the US and Latin America. The format of Polseres Vermelles (Red Band Society) ) has been remade in more than seven different countries and languages, and Merlí now has both a French and Italian version.
Many of our fiction productions and documentaries are already present on all SVOD platforms available in Spain. For a long time now, Amazon Prime and Filmin, HBO MAX and Netflixhave offered subscribers TV3 productions in a whole range of genres. The presence of productions from Catalonia's public television broadcaster grows with each passing year.
We've also left our mark in the world of documentaries, receiving countless awards at home and abroad. We offer a broad range of non-fiction productions, and prestigious networks like BBC (United Kingdom), Arte (France and Germany), Yle (Finland) and Svt (Sweden) have chosen some of them. One example is Crims (Crimes), a true-crime production that was already a big hit with viewers in Catalonia before getting excellent results on the Movistar platform.
As for animation, the co-productions we've taken part in are visible in a long list of countries including Canada, Finland, Germany, Portugal, Ireland, Italy, Belgium, Colombia and Argentina.
In 2022, fiction films with the participation of TV3 have gone farther than ever, winning awards at home and abroad.
At the 72nd Berlinale, Alcarràs —a TV3 co-production— won the highest award: the Golden Bear. It next received five Gaudí awards: Best Film, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Production Director and the Special Audience Award.
Our animation co-productions have also been well-received at film festivals. For example, Josep was named the Best Animated Film at the 2022 César Awards, and the series Jasmine & Jambo won the Gran Prix at the Festival Écran Jeunesse.
