A l'edició de 2005, dedicada a l'Alzheimer i altres malalties del cervell, es van presentar 204 projectes que van ser avaluats per 201 científics especialistes en neurociències d'àmbit internacional, en funció de la seva qualitat, metodologia i rellevància. La gestió de l'avaluació ha estat duta a terme per l'Agència d'Avaluació de Tecnologia i Recerca Mèdiques, del Departament de Salut. Per a conèixer el procés i l'exposició dels resultats de d'avaluació dels projectes de recerca presentats en aquesta convocatòria, feu clic aquí.

D'acord amb la proposta de la Comissió Assessora Científica de la Fundació La Marató de TV3, el Patronat va acordar distribuir, un cop descomptades les despeses d'avaluació, 6.890.426 €, (aquesta xifra inclou l'excedent de l'exercici anterior) a 35 projectes de recerca científica d'excel·lència. Els resultats obtinguts en aquests projectes es van fer públics en el 12è Simposium Fundació La Marató de TV3, celebrat l'any 2011.
