“30 Minuts” has been a special part of the history of Televisió de Catalunya from the start. This flagship documentary program has known how to mirror society’s concerns over the past quarter century.
With in-depth, rigorous analyses, “30 Minuts” has examined current events, both at home and abroad, while providing the historic background needed to help viewers better understand the world around them. Since its start in 1984, it has followed stories behind historic events such as the fall of the Berlin Wall up to the present, the 21st century, a time when all standard models for understanding and managing our planet are being questioned. In Catalonia and Spain it traced the country’s first steps towards self-government and democracy up to its ongoing efforts to define and shape its future.
“30 Minuts” will continue to interpret and reflect society, while keeping abreast of the latest developments in television discourse so as to be able to provide the best and most complete information possible. As the world finds itself in the midst of a historic technological revolution in communication, new questions must be posed together with new approaches, new methods and new platforms.
This year “30 Minuts” has a new opening sequence that continues to reflect the program’s symbols of identity and, at the same time, is a declaration of principles: the opening of windows and spaces on the world. The figure of a naked man pondering the reality projected onto his body becomes the city of the world, a reflection of life where people are trying to adapt to the birth of a new era and a new century.
And “30 Minuts” will be there to explain it all.
